I could not tell how happy I was when it was confirmed
that “Jakarta
will host the Opening and Closing Ceremonies” of the 2018 Asian Games. And it was for the first time in
Asian Games history, that two cities (Jakarta and Palembang were co-hosting this prestigous 18th
edition of the regional multi-sport event, taking place
from 18 August – 2 September 2018.
The most joyful moment came to me when finally, after competing
with hundreds candidates, I was confirmed as part of the volunteer team under
the International
Games Broadcast Services (IGBS), which was appointed
as
host broadcaster by the INASGOC (Indonesia Asian Games Organising Committee).
It was really a privileged to be able to work along with
other students
from Indonesian universities and academies as part
of the IGBS legacy programme, to reflect the
commitment of the Games’ governing body to delivering the highest standards of
quality, consistency and innovation to create an engaging fan experience.
For me as a fresh graduate student, it was not only a pride
moment but also an opportunity to broadening my horizon in learning how to
handle with logistics,
legal, finance, HR & IT, booking &
information, and production of digital content for live streaming and VoD
applications.
